E. A. Séguy was a French designer, illustrator, and pioneering decorative artist best known for his vibrant Art Deco portfolios of insects, butterflies, flowers, and ornamental patterns. Although little is known about his private life, his work had a lasting influence on graphic design, textiles, wallpaper, and interior decoration.
Using innovative pochoir (hand-stenciled) printing techniques, he created richly colored images celebrated for their precision and elegance. His publications, including Papillons, Insectes, and Floréal, combined scientific observation with artistic imagination. Today, Séguy's timeless designs remain highly sought after by collectors and continue to inspire artists, designers, and makers around the world.
